anyone know what files can be altered to change Yahoo Messengers menus and stuff. ive tried it before but the changes never take place . anyone know of anything that can be done

OS = Windows XP Pro SP2
CPU = Intel Core Solo 1.5GHz
MEM = 1GB
DISPLAY = Intel GMA950
Internal HDD= 60GB
External HDD= 80GB
External HDD= 250GB

If you got resource hacker mess around with the file:


C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\res_msgr.dll


That's the one i changed and it worked. Hope it helps you too.

yeah i use resource hacker. do you know what program i could use to edit the colors of the AVI file with the Y! on it.

its in the res_msgr.dll its the first string there.

Hmm, the AVI file i don't know.  I just customized the menus, dialog boxes and buttons.  But I'm sure someone else will know.

OK.  Export the AVI file, open in a program that's able to save the frames as 24bit bitmaps (like TMPGEnc), open the bitmaps in an image editor (like Photoshop), make your changes, save, merge the frames into an AVI file and import to res_msgr.dll.



There should be eight frames total (3 for the first image and 5 for the second).  Size is 480x576 but that's normal.
