I saw this software listed in the Recommended Software portion of this site.  I purchased it thinking I could use it.  When I attempt to use it I get this error message when I click "Create an image of a partition.....": "Cannot get exclusive access to hard disk drives.  Please make sure that Windows Computer Management Console, or other software that locks the hard disk drives, are not running."


Their tech support seems useless.  They told me I should wait for a few minutes after boot-up and things would be okay.  I waited and I still get the aforementioned error message.  Would anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

Just to narrow things down, did you create the BOOT CD? 


And if so, have you booted with it to see if what you want to do works then?


If it does, then there is some software incompatability somewhere.


Otherwise, sounds like a hardware issue.


PS - You may also try safe mode, tho I am not sure if True Image supports safe mode.
