I have an old sidewinder joystick meant for 95/98. I'm wondering if there is any way to get it to woth with XP?? I already tried downloading the drivers, but they indicated they werre incompatible with Xp: is this message ignorable??

I also tried looking for more information on the microsoft database...but that didn't work out too well at all...

any answers out there?

Chaf3d,

You're not talking about the 'Force Feedback' version are you and is it the model with the 'game port' ?

I have a Force Feedback Sidewinder on one of my network PCs and XP recognized the joystick 'natively' (without installing any special drivers!!).

no its not the force feedback..however XP also did recognize it after i rebooted...what a noob i am...
