Couple things....

- Check that the fan's power cable is plugged in the designated place

- Check in the BIOS for a fan speed restriction or even a minimum fan temperature restriction; if you find something like that and if it's possible to fiddle with those settings, do so; if not, you should at least be able to turn it off

- Upgrade the BIOS

I am still having the fan detection trouble, when I sometimes go into bios it says the fan speed is 0rpm, then if I shut down and go look again its saying the fans speed, could there be something wrong with the bios, as my fan is spinning happily all the time, thanx in advance for any solutions.....

Some MSI boards did have a bios upgrade to fix "low system RPM fan".

If it applies to your problem I dont know.

The fan needs to have rpm monitoring circuitry, and an rpm monitoring wire coming out of it, or else the motherboard can't detect anything. Usually a fan will have three wires, Vcc (red), ground (black), and the monitoring wire (yellow). If the fan only has 2 wires (Vcc and Ground - which is common), the mobo won't be able to monitor it. That would explain why the rpm is reading 0, but the fan is spinning. Nothing you can do about that except buy a new fan that has rpm monitoring.

usually you can disable the warning in the BIOS. My mobo reads PS Fan speed, chassis fan speed, and Heat Sink fan speed, and has the option to ignore all three.

Write your questions down on the back of a $20 dollar bill and send them to me.

I am trying to download the latest live update for my mobo, been trying since yesterday, it keeps sticking at 156kb, and its 333kbs all together, hopefully when I eventually get it down, it will fix the prob with my fan detection, fingers crossed, thanx for the replies, much appreciated...

if it has 3 wires it could also mean that the fan is just doing fine but the sensor in the fan is broke i have a new mobo and i noticed that since i installed it in my housing one of the 2 fans on my cpu acts weird. what it does is at first he thinks he is running 0 rpm then a seccond later its around 2000 rpm then another seccon later its around 7000 and then its getting back to 0 thos 3 steps repeat forever. (exept when i turn it off
