In my LAN, a pc doesn't want to login in hotmail for normal way, but if I try login in MSN messenger and then I clic in the link of my inbox, it works fine! ¿why?

Normal way: Open IE6 write www.hotmail.com, write username and passwd, and clic "iniciar sesion" button.

MSN Messenger way: Login in msn messenger, then clic in the link to my inbox.

When i try to login in for the normal way a message appear, that says "Habilitar Cookies, Su explorador esta configurado para evitar la recepcion de cookies, debe habilitar esta opcion para utlizar su correo electronico"... English="Enable Cookies, Your Browser is set to disabling cookies, you must to able this option to use your e-mail (or something like that)"

I tried disabling ALL THE SECURITY IN MY BROWSER!, enabling all cookies reception, i put the security level at the least, but it's not work anyway.

Any ideas? I'm a XP clown  ... Help to this young....

What firewall are you using and how is your LAN connected (via router, hub, etc.), Felipe?

I'm not a networking guru.  Just getting the basic questions out for others to answer!!

I just connect the pc's with LAN cable, buy a hub, and conect the internet in the first pc and voila!, it work by itself (I love XP for things like this)  (just plug and play!) I think that it is called "Internet Conection Sharing" (ICS). ¿Or microsoft magic?... I'm confused

I use Internet Conection Security Server of XP (servidor de seguridad de conexion a internet), I don't know if it's a firewall.

Si, Felipe

That is the XP firewall and you're connected on the LAN via ICS.  Ok, I understand, but I'll let Relder pick at this one as the resident networking Guru. You may not get an answer until 'la mañana'!

With my luck, I'll give you bad advice!!

The most "cookie" problems on the Hotmail site occur when the time and/or date is set incorrectly, either because it's not properly set in the BIOS or because the time zone within Windows is incorrect and you're "forcing" the time to be different (example of the latter: the time zone is set to "GMT+0" but you force the time to be correct by changing the hour manually).

I once spent a long time figuring out why Hotmail wouldn't let me log in, giving that error message about cookies.  I knew about the fact that the time had to be correct so I was really at a loss.  The next day, coincidentally, I found out that the clock was running behind 24 hours (something you don't notice easily).

So do this:

1) Go to Control Panel -- Date and Time, and check that the Time Zone is set to "(GMT-05:00) Bogota, Lima, Quito"

2) Then check that the date and time is correct; maybe this page can assist you in that

The time zone is set correctly, and the hour and date are fine too (In BIOS and Windows), also I sycronized the computer time with time.windows.com, but the problem persist....
