| One solution may be to right clik My Computer > properties > advanced tab > under performance, click settings.
On the list that shows up, the bottom box should say "use visual styles on windows and buttons". If this is unchecked, then windows might be ignoring whatever theme/VS you have selected.

| This same problem used to happen to me on my laptop back when I used StyleXP. I never did find a solution to fix it, but luckily that was around the time that the "uxtheme patch" started circulating around the net. My advice to you would be to get rid of StyleXP and download the patch. Here's a link to one of the patches:
uxtheme patch
Follow the instructions when running it (pay close attention to instruction #6). What this patch does, is replace the uxtheme.dll system file with an altered one. That way you can install and use all themes and styles that you'd use with StyleXP (without actually having to use StyleXP).

| It is better to use the patch especially if you have Perfect Disk. I cannot do an offline defrag with StyleXP installed. I tried everything. Uninstall StyleXP and it works "Perfect", lol.
