| I recently downloaded this program that said it could record telephone conversations onto your harddrive. I actually have no use for this, but I thought it'd be fun to try. It does work, however, the recording quality is terrible, and sometimes inaudible.
The program says you need a "voice modem". I'm not sure if I have that. Are most modems voice modems? I know mine is 56k/v.90, and I also think it is data/fax or whatever. Heres the model:
Intel 536EP V.92 Modem

| The best way to tell right off the top is whether the card has input or output jacks for headphones/microphones on the card (above or below where your phone-line plugs in.

| mine does, so Im assuming that it is a voice modem. But then why would the recording be such terrible quality? Oh well, it doesn't really matter because I'm never going to need it to work.

| I've found mine to be very quirky and it's a top of the line US Robotics hardware model! Much has to do with the audio drivers for the device in my opinion.
Never really had much use for it -- even less now that I'm on broadband.
