I've heard that WMP is a HUGE system resource hog. I'm wondering if anyone else has heard this.

And

If it is true, is there a way to disable/delete WMP? (since i never use the freaking thing...)

You can't really get rid of it. But if you have SP1 installed you can disable access to WMP by going to your "Set access and program defaults" and uncheck "Enable access to this program" next to WMP.

I didnt wanted to start a new thread about this, but how can i make wmp 8 my default player , currently it is realplayer and i dont like it i want wmp 8 to be !

Like I said in my post above, if you have SP1 installed go to your "Set Program Access and Defaults.
