ok my buddy put in windows xp pro and hes on dial up now he can't get his modem to dial whats worng HE WAS ON 98 SE BEFORE

. Take a look at what you posted, could you answer a question with little or no information? Please provide more info, was his modem recognized by XP ok and the drivers installed properly? Who is his ISP? Are there any error messages?

ok he says its a best modem and we put xp in it says it wouldn't work and doesn't now were lost it wont do anything not pick up no dial tone NOTHING

I'm lost too. Please provide more details like the modem's brand and model, maybe a serial number. What version drivers do you have? Or are you using the default WinXP drivers?
