Will someone help me get OE to work with Hotmail!!  Outlook works fine with it, but I can't get OE to work with it.  I get this everytime:

Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server.  Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Service Unavailable', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCCF0

I've read about problems with OE and Hotmail but I've also read that it is possible to get them working together.  I use another email client but I just want to get OE working.  I'm like that.

i have oe working with hotmail with two hotmail accounts. now and then i get the same message on my system. when i do i just leave it for five minutes and try again and it usually works ok then.

ive never looked into why this occurs. dont think microsoft supports this as its a beta at the moment. so we are on our own

re-check your settings and try again

I've been through every Microsoft KB entry on OE and Hotmail. One fix was to set up your proxy. I have no proxy. And Microsoft's other solutions were to actually go to hotmail to check your mail! so basically they have no fix for the problem. lol

 try this fun stuff

right click each of the hotmail folders, , for the inbox set the sync to "new messages only"  for sent set to "headers only"  for the rest set to "dont sync"

and or any other configurations of syncronizing that you desire to reduce your i/o to from the server when syncing. (work with the IDEA of reducing the data) the data is still accessable when you click on it if you get headers only.

i assume you have already ripped out the account and recreated it.

OK, so i am Guessing, but i try hard
