| hey all,
im new to this forum so i thought this was as good a place as any to put my post. i've been trying to get a mustek600cp flatbed scanner, which previosuly was on a windows95 machine, to work on windowsxp?
i have installed the latest drivers, configured LPT port to use ECP or EPP, windows 95 settings, and it still isn't recognised as being plugged in. anyone got any ideas?
thanks.

| Ok, what you have to do is go to the Mustek European site. Hang with me, and I'll get you started.
But first, does your scanner have a SCSI port on the back also?
If it's just strictly a parallel, then I may NOT can help.
I have the 600 II CD (which is a SCSI based scanner). ANyways, hang on, and I'll check............. |

| Are you sure is a CP model? Have you looked on the back of the scanner for the little silver metal/stick serial/model number?
Did it so happen the scanner box have a different model number than the scanner itself? (There is a reason for this if that is so) |

| Go the this link then follow the directions. I found the 600 CP just as you said.
http://www.mustek.de/eng_/html/treiber/scanner_scanmagic_lpt.htm
I can't help you anymore, unless you tell me the serial nubmer on the bar code it is asking for (you'll see what I mean when you go to the above link). Or you just may be able to follow the instructions and figure it out for yourself. After that point, you it will tell you if WIndows 2000 or XP is supported.
The American site is junk, it will not support older Mustek scanners. |

| its a 600 CP
im not sure which of the two is the model number so i will give them both:
HES10-12010-0-6 or 80-050-04012
the port is the big one (i think parallel) - about 11 pins verticle & 2 pins horizontal.
currently i dont have it plugged in or the drivers installed.
thanks.
ot: do u know of a good free image uploader/host perferably which doesn't require registration?
