I have a USB Robotics 56K modem which even before my upgrade to XP only gave me speeds of 28.8 and 31.3. After the upgrade my speed dropped to 21.6 and 24 respectively. I suspect this has more to do with there not being specific XP drivers for this modem and having to use the XP generic drivers, than my modem settings. However in an effort to increase my speeds I have used all the tweaks available in this forum. The one thing I am having a problem with is under the "Networking" tab in the "Connections" for my ISP settings I have 2 items listed, 1. Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and 2. QoS Packet Scheduler(greyed out with the box checked). The internet tweak's I read said I only need number 1(TCP/IP), however when I uninstall number 2 I cannot establish a connection. Is there something I am missing or need to do before I uninstall QoS packet scheduler.

Hallo,

what is with the service for the QoS.

Is it disabled on your machine.

May be you must first start this service before

deleting QoS.

Yes that worked, thanks. I had the QoS turned off in Services and for some reason this caused a problem. When I turned it on, uninstalled QoS Packet Scheduler and then turned QoS in services off again it was fine. However if this made any difference I can see it.
