| Did you get any resolution to this? I have the same problem. The install just stops or takes forever to run. One install took 18 hours to complete. Last night I found that that putting the system into hibernate and starting back up seemed to kick it into running again. It still was very slow however. The download was fast just the install hangs.

| I checked the site above and didn't find anything that was the same problem exactly, or I missed it. There are no errors it just takes forever. The progress bar will move every now and then. If you are willing to wait the install eventally runs all the way to the end. But I felt that 18 hours to install a 218 kb update was excessive. Otherwise the machine runs fine. Installs from cd's run fine. I have learned to only run MS updates before going to bed or work.

| hi,
thank you bulldog for your worm welcome and helpful link but like iebfr14 i don't think any of the broblems discribed on that page are what i'm experiencing. It realy doesn't matter any more because after talking to a friend of mine about the problem he told me to go to neowin and download the patches one by one. this is actually much better because you can see the feed back and store the individual patches on your machine if you wanted to. Maybe you too should try doing something like that.
ps. i live in canada too
