| Hi
I just got my paycheck and am on my way to spend a part of it on a graphic card w/tv-out (gonna be watching movies and playin' cs on my tv from now on
I've been googling a little and really can't decide what to buy. So, I ask your advice, which one of these cards would you buy, if you were in my shoes:
basically, what I need is a card that
- will run games and movies on a good speed,
- has linux support for when I will install RH and freevo on it

And what I don't know about Graphic Cards is
- the diff between ati and geforce
- does it really matter that much which manufacturer if I go for the geforce chipset?
Thanx, Halli |

| The 440SE is probably the best option you have there.
You can always have a look on ebay and see what you can get there....

| I agree with mnosteele, go for an FX 5200. In my opinion spending money on the cards you listed isn't worth it.
I've got a question myself tough, right now I've got a GF4 Ti4400 128mb DDR. I'm gonna assemble a new system and I'm having troubles between choosing between:
-sticking with my GF4
-buying a FX 5600 128mb DDR for 238 euro
-buying a FX 5900 128mb DDR for 410 euro
euro = about the same in US$
I've googled around a bit also and from what I learned buying an FX 5600 wouldn't be really worth it?
Any opinions? |

GeForce FX 5200 128MB DDR is only 60 bucks, and the prices of other V-cards are pretty low too

| Save up your money and get something a little better than what you have listed.
