| I need a good optical mouse for online gaming such as Counter-Strike, UT2003, etc. I hate the fact that I have to clearn my ball mouse whole bunch. What's a good optical mouse to use? Any suggestions?
I've tried a Logitech Cordless Optical mouse, but I didn't think it worked well with CS. So, I got rid of it. I thought it was cause it was cordless. I really don't care for the cordless part, just don't want to clean it.

| I have to clean all my opticals
They seem to pick up grunge from the pad on the feet fof mice, and the positioners in optical balls get all gunged up occasionally.
Definately easy to clean, but not maintenance free. Hands are dirty things , greasy anyways... especially during tense gaming
I use a ball for gaming, but I've heard good things about the Logitech MX700 (cordless) and MX500 (cord) for gaming.

| These are the mice I'm looking into...
Logitech MouseMan Dual Optical Logitech MX300 Optical Logitech MX310 Optical Logitech MX500 Optical Logitech Click! Optical
The MX700 is too expensive for my taste.
What you guys think of these mice?

Which Microsoft optical mouse do you suggest, for first person shooters?

| I use a Logitech cordless Elite and it works very well for FPS. However, it does have one annoyance in that it wants to "sleep" after a few moments so you have to move it around a little before it responds, but any cordless is going to do that.
I do have to periodically clean the feet on my mouse..... but not near as often as I had to clean the ball on my other mouse!

| I don't think I will need a cordless mouse, and besides I hate the fact you have to replace the batteries every 2 months, that can add up. I've heard cordless mice don't work as well with games and what not.
I'm think I'm gonna go ahead and get...
MX500 MX300 Dual Optical
All Logitech mice
I've read good reviews for each of these mice.

| I have a Logitech MX700. It is truly a magnificent mouse and I can highly recommend it.
About "sleep" with coordless mice. The MX700 goes into sleep mode after a looong time. You could easily wait most of a CS round without having to "wake it up". The fact that it recharges in the receiver means that it doesn't have to save power as much as a normal coordless. The recharger also means that the problem with the batteries only lasting 2 months isn't a problem. The rechargeable batteries are included, 2*AA Ni-MH 1700mAh.
It's even as precise as a coord mouse and sends just as much data as a PS2 mouse thanks to the new transfer system by Logitech.
Last but not least it works on any surface.
You think the MX700 is too expensive, may be yes, then go for the MX500. Same as the MX700 only with a coord.
My CS skills have improved after purchasing this mouse.
Regards,
