| What is this folder? What are the registry entries that reference it?
It's in the recycler folder so I assume it's stuff that's been deleted. Can I delete the registry entries safely?
Thanks
*edit*
sorry meant recycler folder, not recycle bin. |

| The numbers indicated by the post topic refer to the beginning of a unique security ID (SID) for a user account or group. Not sure how it got in the recycle bin. If you recently reinstalled XP without formatting the hard drive, that could be a cause otherwise I would be cautious about deleting it.

| Are you thinking of the same thing? Every computer I've had with 2K or XP has had this folder.
It should be on the windows drive, in a hidden folder called "recycler". In it (s-1 etc. folder) are all the things I've deleted recently |

| Sorry, mixed up recycler folder with recycle bin with the previous answer. But the priniciples are the same.
The Recycler folder is the recycle bin for each user that has an account on your PC. This are listed by the SID for each account that has logged on the PC. A SID ending in 500 is the administrator account's ID. Not sure of ramifications of deleting that folder. At the very least, the system may rebuild it. It also may hose the recycle bin
