ive mapped two network drives (D: = the d drive on a networked machine, etc), but whenever i start up the computer they've got red x's thru them (in windows explorer). when i double click on them i get in just fine, and after that - no more red x's.

the reason i would like to remedy this is that i have software that starts up from the windows start-up folder. because these drives are not "ready" until i double click on them, the software fails because it can't access the drives.

is there some setting that will initiate network drives on windows start up?

thanks,

corey

When you mapped the network drive, did you check the 'reconnect at log-on' box in the dialog for the mapping tool? (Just starting at the easy stuff!)
