I used to have Ad-aware for XP on my old comp and it did stop pop-up ads except the ads would still pop up but instead of seeing the ad it would say "This page can not be displayed." Which i thought was pretty stupid since i was still getting millions of pop-ups.  Before I go an download the program again i just want to know if there's anyway to stop the ad window from popping up at all? OR is this just how ad-aware works?

I use the following programs on my comp to keep it spyware clean, as all of the programs find different things it's a good idea to use them in conjunction with each other..

I would also have to disagree with Desert Eagle about Ad-aware as I find the new build of version 6 to be excellent.

Remember the original question was about stopping pop-ups, whereas the primary mission of ad-aware and spybot is spyware scanning and zapping *not* stopping pop-ups.
