I'm running WinXP pro. I have a Geforce4 440MX graphics card with TV out. from Creative, I'm using the 4.4.0.3 drivers from nvidias homepage.
My problem is that sometímes, when I start my computer, the TV is used as my primary monitor (even if the computer screen was the primary before I booted the comp.)

Any suggestions?

It's possible that the nVidia drivers do not fully control the output of your graphics card (in terms of setting which monitor is to be used as 'default' or primary).  Do the nVidia drivers allow you to reset the output back to your PC monitor?  If so, are there any other menus that permit you to do just that (adjust the default output)?

If not, it might be prudent for you to go back to the Creative drivers to gain full functionality and adjustability on your graphics card if you can't make the adjustment with your existing driver package.

I don't want to use creatives drivers, because they arent as good as nvidias when it comes to gaming (I couldn't even play Need for speed with creatives drivers)

It's possible to change back to the PC moniter when the comp starts up using the TV as primary monitor, but since the PC-monitor shuts down I need to do all changes on the TV.

Did you get an installation CD with the video card? That would have the baseline drivers you're looking for but they may not be the most up to date.  Is there a downloadable or paper manual or a Readme file on the CD that might provide you some specific guidance?

Is there a model number on the video card? This might help you to get past the Creative driver question page.

The GeForce 4 MX440 tells me its an nVidia chipset alright but Creative has a 'cute' way of renaming their products like the 'Annihilator' or the 'Superconflabulator' or something like that.  Did you purchase this new/retail or OEM or did it come from a 'friend'?

I got an installation CD, but with those drivers I couldn't play Diablo II, etc.

Where/how do I find the model number?

I purchased it from a shop, not from a friend.

I understand.

Look on the graphics card and you should find a sticker or perhaps an etched serial number (usually abbreviated 'S/N') along with a model number.  Look for a number like 'CT4760' or something like that.
