| Often, when starting up my laptop into WinXP (SP2), I find that, once I've logged in, all I get is my wallpaper. This is because every last item that should start (even explorer.exe) just...hasn't. I can CTRL+ALT+DEL and run explorer.exe to get my taskbar, but it doesn't really help because, hey, I'm missing all my startup apps and I'd have to potter about finding and running each one (and there are many). I find that the quickest way around it so far is to simply reboot the system from the task manager and when I'm back in Windows, everything starts as if it weren't just on strike.
This one has me confused, guys, and I'd really prefer not to have to reinstall, any help with fixing this would be appreciated.
