I originally bought a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and after installing the drivers, the breakout box showed no life. I tried installing it in 3 differnt PCI slots (there are 5) and got the same result every time. Windows XP w/ SP2 fully up to date and an ABIT IC7-MAX3 Socket 478 motherboard with the latest BIOS -- I GAVE UP.

I recently purchased a newer model, the Audigy 4 Pro with breakout box. I have the EXACT same problem, the breakout box is dead and Creative's support is useless. They recommend I buy the newer model!

Does anyone have a clue what might be causing this? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks a lot.
