| I sound like a novice here... :P
I'd like to assign "Control+S" to "Save". Whenever I hit Ctrl+S, all I get is a couple of S's where the cursor was in a specific program, and nothing is saved. I've really become accustomed to that keyboard shortcut because it saves me a lot of time...

| I don't work alot in Windows 98, but when I do it's to work with the registry. So Notepad is the program I'd like that functionality in.
BTW... On 2000 and XP, when you open Notepad and go to "File", it reads "Ctrl+S" next to "Save". In Win98, there's nothing next to "Save". I guess this could be considered as proof that it's not implemented into Windows 98's Notepad.

| It needs additional files and I don't want to mess with that. I'll use NotepadXP.

| Sorry; forgot all about it.
Just tried 1.5, and the latest beta which is "recommended" (what a joke).
The beta wouldn't load at all. I kept getting the same error message over and over again no matter how many times I pressed OK.
Version 1.5 loads fine and has the "Ctrl+S" combo assigned to "Save", but it doesn't remember all of my preferences. I've set the toolbars to only display "Word Wrap" (as this program always enables that function upon opening and I don't want that) and "Replace" (as I use this quite often), but it keeps on adding "Redo". The other problem is that it opens the "workspace" in a small window, while the program interface is maximized; I want the "workspace window" to be maximized by default as well.
I've complained about these problems to the makers of the software about a month ago and maybe the newest version "fixes" them, but I'll never know that...
I'll live with it... (Regular Notepad, that is)

| No, I want to assign "Ctrl+S" to "Save", like it's already the case in 2K/ME/XP.
Thanks for the info; will do that immediately.
... after I pop out a can of Coke.
... and a glass.
... and some ice cubes.
