| I held the power button to turn off my computer last night and I got this error. I couldn't turn it back on. I have this Cd and I ran a port attack on the bios and I then ran some admin only tool and booted to ubuntu.
I don't know if windows will load and I don't want to turn off my computer to find out it doesn't and ubuntu wont load either. I actually installed ubuntu a while ago but this is my first time using it so I don't know what I'm doing.
I got some error invalid boot volume, unable to mount. Something like that and when starting up I got the BSOD as soon as the windows loading screen popped up.

| If you have the Microsoft Windows XP installation disk, with the install disk in the cd-rom drive, boot to the Recovery Console.
At the prompt type FIXBOOT then press Enter.
Then type FIXMBR then press Enter.
Ignore any warnings.
Type EXIT press Enter once more.
Restart your pc.
If still no joy, with your Microsoft Windows XP install disk in the cd-rom drive, boot to the Recovery Console.
At the prompt type chkdsk /r then press Enter.
Leave a space in between chkdsk and /r
This process could take up to an hour or more, allow it to run until its finished.

| Unfortunately they never gave me the disk so I had to restore my HD to factory settings. I appreciate your help regardless.
