| | On previous computers with XP, I have always had the taskbar hidden, and when I need to drag something like a link or file from the active window into an inactive window, I drag it down to the taskbar which then pops up. Then I hover over the desired window on the taskbar and it opens, allowing me to drop the item into it. I find that on my Acer laptop with Vista, this behavior is intermittant at best. Most of the time, when I drag own to the taskbar, it does not pop up. I have found a work-around - If I first minimize everything by clicking Show Desktop, and then click the Window I want to drag the item from and then initiate the drag, then this technique will work as in the old OS, (most of time), but that is an irritating extra two steps, and it is hard to break old habits. Has anyone else seen this behavior? Are there any fixes for this? Thanks |

| Yes I have. The same scenario happens on my Vaio laptop with Home Premium.
When I want to drag something down to the taskbar, I have to drag it down to the left-hand side of the taskbar (hover over where the start button is) then it'll pop up.
While I'm still holding down the mouse button, I then drag that icon to the proper place and then release it.
