I have an Nvidia (type) of video card that was installed in an HP m9150f system. HP's website does not fully identify the video card specifications. The card is obviously built by ASUS. It is an 8500GT 256mb. The ASUS website lists that model, but the graphic card pictured there is not the card I have. Short of installing the card back into a computer and running a stand-alone component ID package, is there anyway to locate the specifications for the video card. Do any of the stickers attached to the circuit board have any clues?

Specifically what I would like to do is compare it with an ATI Radeon X1600 Pro 512mb card and determine which to keep/install (wifes computer) and which to put in my spares box. I have the specs for the ATI card already. Currently she has the ATI card installed.

The card is obviously built by ASUS. It is an 8500GT 256mb.
Those I've seen had that information on the card itself, either a sticker or silkscreened on it. Or you can go to Start, Run and type in dxdiag to find more information.

The card could look different as ATI, nVidia and others sell their graphics chipsets to various manufacturers and they implement them as they desire. [AMD now owns ATI.]
Example: I have a video card made/sold by Sapphire that uses the ATI Radeon 9200SE chipset. http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/products/browseproducts.php

I am aware of the ATI/AMD merge. I have examined the card (it is not installed) and can not find anything to provide a clue on where to get the specs. It says that it is ASUS in large letters on the circuit board. The physical difference between my card and the only 8500 on the ASUS website photos are quite considerable. My 8500GT has an HDMI, DVI and TV out connection, the ASUS photo shows what appears to be two DVI and a TV out. The only specification difference I can be sure of other than the connections are that my card is 256mb and the ASUS website card is 512mb. The fans are very different and the capacitor arrangements are very different also. I do not have a spare computer with PCI express available and I really do not want to pull out my installed video card and install the 8500 (using the DX or PC Wizard method) just to get the information. Installing it would mean removing/uninstalling an ATI, installing the Nvidia and then going back to the ATI if that is what I decided to do.
