| It seems everytime I shut down my computer and turn it back on the next day, the Windows XP Professional logo with the loading thing doesnt show, it's just black. I am only able to fix it once I fiddle around with the 2 wired cables connecting the HD to the motherboard for about 30 min to about an hour. Got any ideas? Since I will be doing a reformat, will I still need to worry about this?

| | Not sure I understand. There's usually only one ribbon cable between each HD and the mobo (plus a power cable going to the power supply). Maybe renew the ribbon cable? I take it the disk is recognised by the BIOS. |

| Reformatting will cure your start-up (and the other) grief you are suffering from!

| As I said before, I'd first replace the ribbon cable. |
