Hi shags72

Are you going to Start>Run, then typing ipconfig in the run box?

Try typing "cmd" in the run box. Then at the command line prompt type ipconfig.

Why are you going into ipconfig?

I googled "access router" and found this:
Open a command prompt window and type the following command:

ipconfig /all

The Default Gatewayaddress is the one you want to put in the Address (URL) field of your web browser in order to connect to the router.

The pages I read all say about the same thing.

Thanks! I did this and found out that my router had the default username and password! I changed the password but couldn't figure out how to change the username. Oh well I guess I did enough I enabled mac filtering for the wireless cards and added all my wireless computers. I tried to disable the ssid broadcast but when I tried to log on it would not show up until I tried to manually log on and then it would say there is allready that network available and asked if I wanted to try and log on or try a different network. I would try another network and then it would show up on the list. Wow this is turning into a network post. If you want me to post there I will but if this is a relatively quick fix answer I would appreciate it. My friend has an unsecure network that RichieUK is helping unscrew his computer now and I want to help him secure his router when it gets fixed. He had someone take over his computer I think through some type of remote access. That is why I am trying to secure my network.

WORLDS LONGEST ACTUAL TYPED POST MAYBE? LOL
