I have a Dell computer XPS 420 running Windows Vista Premium.  I went to Dell Support Centre and looked for any new downloads and saw that there was an upgrade for their Support Centre Programme.  As instructed I removed the installed version, downloaded and installed the new version ( I have done this twice and got the same problem).

Now I get a warning box "Windows Internet Explorer - Stack Overflow at line:0" it appears on every programme I go to and no matter how many times I close it it comes back.

I have had to use my TrueImage programme which restored my C drive to what it was before and no longer get this warning so it is definately caused by the Dell download.  I have had a look on the internet and this seems to be a problem with may different programmes and I wonder what causes it.

I have sent a request to Dell but have not received any reply, has anybody had a similar problem and knows the cause?

Dave

Hi DeeBeeS

You got the "Windows Internet Explorer - Stack Overflow at line:0" when trying to start a program, or when visiting web pages?

Maybe un-installing the Dell Support Center program took out something needed for Internet Explorer to run correctly.

I googled "Windows Internet Explorer - Stack Overflow at line:0" and found:

Thanks Chilly Willy for the quick reply. I have uninstalled the update and then using True Image restored Drive C with the result that it does not happen anymore.  I think I will leave it at that.  Thanks once again.
