| *not sure if this is the right forum, so sorry if it isn't.* hi, i have wmp 9 and also all the latest divx codecs (5.0.5). i am trying to play an avi using wmp and it works but the quality is not good and it is real slow. however, when i play it using the divx player it plays like it should.
i like wmp 9 better for playing avi's so how can i fix this problem?
thanks.

Hehe, first thing I would try is go to the decoder configuration (should be on Program Menu under DiVX 5.05). There you can adjust quality and film effect. Slide those suckers all the way right and see what happens. If that doesn't work, try going to Start-Run-type in mplayer2.exe and open the .avi and see if there's a difference. mplayer2 is the original Media Player, so it takes away all the fancy nonsense that is WMP9.
If THAT doesn't work, post back your system specs and we'll try something else.
