so i'm new to vista, and i've constantly got these annoying boxes pooping up when i open certain programs, asking me for permission to open them up.  I have to allow it, saying that I trustthe program.  how can i stop this?

any help would be appreciated.

There's a great article posted here on how to do just this.

Only use one method, not all of them. Option number one seems the easiest and requires a reboot. After the reboot, you'll see a small window telling you about the configuration utility. Just place a checkmark in the box to not bother you again with it and OK it.

No more UAC popups.

Just run UAC in silent mode. Here's a little utility to let you quickly switch modes: http://www.tweak-uac.com/
