I currently use a Actiontec internal PCI DSL modem. My brother just gave me his old Alcatel Speedtouch USB DSL modem. Should I just stick with my internal modem? Sometime this week I'll do some speed tests with both. With my internal I get, around average, 1200/216. I think my caps are 1500/256 with Bellsouth DSL.

(BTW, I know ethernet modems would be my best bet.)

Stick with your internal!!!!! Avoid USB as much as possible when it comes to networking!!!! USB was not designed for Networking!!!!

I wouldn't use either, I would suggest using an external modem connected via ethernet.
