| Hi just got my new laptop Sunday a Hp home premium loaded with 1 gig mem. All seems fine except I keep getting the permit, deny pop ups & disabling it won't let HP support work, also a bit slopw on shutdown but I do run the machine for a while. I would appreciate any tips you can give me,thanks!

| If you're the only user, go ahead and disable User Access Control.

| User Account Control you mean?
Wouldn't that make his system ten times more vulnerable to malicious files?
Or maybe you are thinking that by reading the topic,
the person probably wouldn't know when or when not to grant a
process administrative rights? |

| I'm not quite that bad, since I test security software I do know the good guys from the bad. Just not happy with the way vista runs & prompts you for senseless stuff like when you run you game form the icon & it asks you are you sure? I bought the program as it makes playing with vista a bit easier, thanks

| Just remember that if you disable UAC it will also disable 'Protected Mode' in IE7.
