Problem description : While playing EQ2 (I dont play any other games, so I have nothing to compare problems to) I will completely freeze up and I am forced to reboot my computer. When I freeze like this, I hear a high-pitched shrill from my speakers instead of the game sound. System : AMD Athlon 64 2800+ 2.1~, nVidianForce2 Motherboard, Windows XP Home, 1024 RAM (2/512 sticks), Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Gamer edition, Nvidia GeForce 4 FX 5700 Ultra, DSL Connection from a 2 Wire Home Portal What I have tried already : After getting the latest versions of all my drivers and still having the problem... I completely restored my computer to it's original state, Installed the latest Video, Sound,Motherboarddrivers and Windows XPto a clean computer and only reinstalled EQ2. I am still freezing, crashing. Any help would be greatly appreciated! ~~

I am having the same type of problem with EQ2. I am going through a DSL connection. I brought my computer over to a friends house, he has comcast. I was able to play wow without it freezing while I was there. Yet when I came back to my Verizon DSL connection, it went back to the same problem. Im also playing Wow, and am having some strange sound blip problems with it. Random noises durring game play; that sort of thing.

Everywhere I look online for EQ2 and it's freezing problems, the devs all seem to think these computers are overheating. I've checked my comp. temp. several times and it's fine. I've updated sound, network, video drivers and nothing seems to help in that way. My firewall doesn't seem to be the problem either. After a lot of testing and other troubleshooting, Im at my wits end. I've even reformatted and reinstalled EQ2 and the same problem resurfaced. Should I just contact my DSL ISP?
