| | Whenever I try loading the half life 2 demo I always get a message like,"failed to set video mode-resetting to defaults" it tries 2 different modes and ends with safe mode and they all fail to load then it leaves me a message saying I need a directx version 7 or better. so if anyone could help it would be very sweet cuz I wanna see if this game is actually worth the buy and I cant even try the demo so plz someone help me with somehow sweet demo |

| | Your question's ten days old, so chances are you've either figured out how to solve your problem or you've given up completely. If you're still knocking your head against the glass (or liquid crystals), however, make certain that your computer has the muscle to play Half Life 2, particularly your video card. If your video card is up to snuff, make certain you have the latest drivers for all of your primary hardware systems, video card, sound card, and chipset. To answer your second, unasked, question: Half Life 2 is very much worth buying. It's even worth upgrading your computer for if you find that one or two components are presently preventing you from playing it. |
