| | My sister just recently returned home from college and asked me to hook up her computer to the internet using our wireless router. Everything was fine and dandy for a few days, until her internet quit working right. Now when you first start up her computer, internet explorer and many other programs work for about 5 minutes and then quits. The weird thing is that she also has 2 instant messenger things that run even when the "This web page cannot be found" screen shows up in explorer. Would anybody happen to know what the problem is? If you don't happen to understand, just send a message and I could probably explain it in more details. |

| Do you only have problems viewing web pages with your Sisters Pc ?
Are you able to update applications via the internet connection i.e. Anti-Virus / Spyware - if so, have you ran them ?Have you tried an alternate web browser to Internet Explorer ?

The only things that work all the time, are two instant messager things. So every other application, doesn't work. I have Ad-Aware and Spybot on her computer. I can update them, but only for the first 5 minutes the computer is on. And yes, I have ran them. I have yet to use another web browser, but I doubt it will work since everything except for the 2 instant messangers quit working about 5 minutes after the computer is turned on. Another thing i have noticed is the fact that in network connections, the status says "Connected" even though it's not. |
