I had to reinstall XP Pro yesterday on my work machine. I got everthing up and running (even my Umax firewire scanner), but a problem from a previous installation has returned. It's more aggravating than anything, but...

When I reinstalled our networked Xante printers, neither of them shows a printer icon when a job is sent to it. Is there any way to restore the icon?

One of the printers sends a number of "Remote Download Document" ghost jobs before the actual print job begins. Each is queued for only 5 seconds or so, but I didn't have this problem before... although it has popped up on other XP installs around the office. It seems like XP is very picky when it comes to printer options. I'm using the latest XP drivers from Xante.

I can always remove and reinstall these printers until I get it right, but I thought I might find a clue here that'll save me time. Thanks for any help...
