| i had to reinstall XP and i did but when i did my sound card (SB Audigy MP3+) wasnt to be found......like it never existed..
i tried shutting it downa and taking it out and reinstalling it but no go, i used the cd but it said "card not found"
whats up??? help |

| | Have you tried going to Creative and downloading the latest drivers? Have you looked in Device Manager to see if the drivers are detected? Look in sound video and game controllers in Hardware. |

| You need to install your Audigy separately. Get your driver CD or download the drivers and install the drivers.

| ya i DLed all the drivers and went into the devce manager and it shows the card not even there...
i am running my sound off of my nvidia MOBO (a7n8x deluxe) and usually when u install a new hardware the "dd new hardware" thing pops up but nothing. i got all the drivers and they wont install without a card present |

| I have an A7N8X Deluxe, and I run both the SoundStorm and an Audigy without a problem.
If Windows is not even detecting your sound card, then I would remove it from the slot and then put it back in making sure that it is firmly seated.
Better still. I would try another PCI slot. Where possible, always try to avoid PCI slot 1.

| Not trying to go off topic or anything.. but why avoid pci slot 1?

| | Because PCI slot 1 is nearly always shared with your AGP video card slot. |
